The VanDusen maze is made of 3,000 pyramidal cedars, Thuja occidentalis 'Fastigiata', planted in the autumn of 1981. There is an observation terrace from which the less adventuresome visitor can view the maze.

The octagonal labyrinth at the Vancouver School of Economics was installed in 2006. This permanent version replaces the original, which was set into the grass in 1997, and was the work of Rev. April Stanley, JoAnne Tharalson, Rev Lynne McNaughton, and Ginger Shaw. It is situated next to the Iona Building.

Asterion, our Labyrinth, is at Carmanah Point Lightstation, which is in Pacific Rim National Park on the south west coast of Vancouver Island. Access is a three day hike along the West Coast Trail from either Port Renfrew (31 km south east of here) or Bamfield (44 km north west).
